Optimization of manufacturing processes and supply chains under the view of circularity and sustainability with feedback from other projects (C2NET, i4Q). A framework that extends manufacturing optimization models with sustainability, circularity and reusability aspects, in which applicable parameters, decision variables and objectives are selected for each UniMaaS pilot context (aerospace, automotive, additive manufacturing and logistics) and the result is benchmarked against the basic model to measure quantitative impact on KPIs.
Main Innovations
- Extends existing base optimization models with sustainability constraints without the requirement to redesign the structure and uses a formal taxonomy as a reference for the applicable parameters, decision variables, and objectives for each pilot context.
- Includes a benchmarking component that compares the results of the basic model and the extended model to generate quantitative data on the impact on sustainability.
